The Leap: From Electrician to Copywriter

In July 2022, I cut the cord on my 9–5 as an electrician. No roadmap. No warm leads. Just a clear decision: I was done trading time for wages. I wanted leverage — and I believed copywriting could give me that.

For the next six months, I went all-in.

I studied obsessively. Wrote daily. Reached out to hundreds of people. And eventually, it paid off — I landed my first real client: an influencer with 67,000 followers on Instagram.

I immediately spotted holes in their funnel that were leaking traffic and killing conversions. So I built smart automations, rewrote their landing pages, and helped drive thousands of new visitors to their lead magnets every week.

That was just the start…

The Season of Discipline

I didn’t let early success distract me — I got hungrier.

While others celebrated small wins, I went to war with my weaknesses.

I spent thousands on mentorships, private coaching, and elite copywriting programs. Read hundreds of sales pages, dissected email sequences, and studied funnels that pulled in millions and even joined private calls with copywriters who’d generated $200M+ in revenue.

Most days, I was up before 5 AM — writing emails, testing hooks, refining frameworks.

Not because I had to — but because I refused to be just another ‘copywriter’.

At this point, copywriting became my life.

My Hardest Challenge Yet: CopySquad’s Dark Souls Copywriting Competition

After nearly a year of nonstop writing, I needed to prove myself — not to others, but to me.

So I entered one of the most brutal copywriting contests in the game:

CopySquad’s Dark Souls Challenge — (CopySquad being a private community of one of the most respected marketing agencies in the financial world that took a business from $10M in revenue to $50M in one year)

20 copywriters entered.

1 Email submission per week,

and one winner was picked based on real metrics: open rates, click-throughs, and conversions.

Not only did I win — I shattered the benchmark.

  • Doubled the average OR, CTR, and CVR. (2.5%- 5% on average.)

  • Set a record that still hasn’t been beaten.

  • Earned a job offer from the agency behind the challenge.

But I turned it down.

Building a Legacy

I didn’t come this far to be another hired gun. I came to build something.

So instead of joining an agency, I chose to partner with top-tier operators and work directly with founders, creators, and teams scaling to 6–7 figures and beyond.
